Casambi marked an exciting milestone with its debut appearance at the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), held October 27–30, 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Exhibiting at Booth GH-D01 in the Hall of Connected Lighting, Casambi presented its first-ever showcase in Hong Kong and the ASEAN region.

Over four dynamic days, the Casambi booth became a hub of energy, innovation, and collaboration, showcasing the strength of the Casambi ecosystem in partnership with ERCO and eight ecosystem partners: AcTEC, ALLOOKING, CUPOWER, IILLUMX, Norming, Rayrun, Siqi Technologies, and Vlinca. From inspiring speaker moments to nonstop booth activity and a lively gala evening, the week highlighted Casambi’s growing presence and influence in APAC.

A Vibrant Start at HKLF 2025

The excitement carried over as the fair officially opened. Casambi’s booth quickly became a center of curiosity and interaction, with visitors eager to explore wireless lighting demos and experience firsthand how a fully interoperable smart lighting ecosystem can bring flexibility, efficiency, and creativity to any space.

We were proud to invite Richard Lu, founder of iLicht Lighting Design in Chengdu, to speak at the booth. With over a decade of expertise in museum and cultural heritage lighting, he has led acclaimed projects including the Sanxingdui Museum, Chengdu Museum, Jinsha Site Museum, Yongling Museum, and the East Hall of Shanghai Museum.

Richard’s session, “Exploration and Application of Wireless Intelligent Control in Cultural Heritage Lighting,” drew strong interest as he shared insights from Sanxingdui Museum. He highlighted how Casambi wireless controls integrated with ERCO precision lighting enabled flexible, adaptive, and energy-efficient solutions, demonstrating the real-world impact of smart lighting technology in cultural spaces.

With buzzing interactions and high engagement, the atmosphere at our booth was nothing short of electricsetting an exciting tone for the days ahead.

Shaping the Future of Wireless Lighting

Momentum continued on Day 2 as Luis Barahona, Technical Director of Lighting Applications at ERCO Lighting, shared his expertise on architectural lighting through the lens of the “language of light” philosophy. Drawing from Richard Kelly’s foundational principles, Luis illustrated how timeless concepts of ambient luminescence, focal glow, and interplay of brightness translate seamlessly into today’s wireless era.

In his session, “Richard Kelly in the Wireless World,” Luis demonstrated how Casambi’s wireless control system enables designers to create lighting scenes that are human-centric, adaptable, and energy-efficient. Through practical examples, he showed how wireless control enhances spatial storytelling, sustainability, and creative freedom in architectural lighting.

Our APAC General Manager Edmund Hui joined the Connected Lighting Forum for a panel discussion on “Healthy Net-zero Future Led by Sustainable Lighting.” The conversation highlighted how connected technologies, open ecosystems, and intelligent controls are shaping a more sustainable future. Edmund shared how Casambi’s commitment to openness and energy efficiency supports the industry’s transition to smarter, healthier lighting environments.

Vision, Leadership & Inspiring Dialogues

Day 3 was a highlight of the fair, filled with engaging conversations, innovative ideas, and inspiring demonstrations that captured the energy and creativity of the smart lighting community.

We were honored to host Zhang HuaMing at our booth, where his session “A Systems Thinking Approach to Light-Based Emotional Design for Observers” sparked rich discussions on lighting innovation and industry trends. Zhang shared how he blends light, art, and technology to create immersive, emotionally resonant experiences. His portfolio includes the Shanghai Bulgari Hotel, Zhuhai Civic Art Center, and numerous international hotels, galleries, and cultural installations, demonstrating how thoughtful, system-driven lighting design can engage observers, enhance space, and transform the way people experience architecture and culture.

On the main stage, our CEO Mark McClear introduced Casambi LightingOS™, a unified operating system orchestrating smart lighting across wired and wireless systems. Mark highlighted how LightingOS™ enables designers, integrators, and end-users to create next-generation connected lighting experiences. Running quietly in the background, it manages devices, scenes, and schedules, allowing people to focus on what matters. Unlike short-lived BLE startups, Casambi scales across geographies and applications, delivering lighting that is smart, clean, easy, everywhere.

We also welcomed Eugenia Cheng, founder of LightOrigin Studio, one of Asia’s most dynamic lighting designers. Renowned for fusing emotion with architectural form, she has shaped award-winning projects across hospitality, retail, and public spaces.

Joining Mark on stage, Eugenia presented “Designing with Light: Emotion, Identity, and Innovation,” exploring how lighting evokes emotion, expresses cultural identity, and drives innovation. She shared insights from her collaborations with ERCO and Casambi, demonstrating how precision optics and wireless control have transformed her creative process and elevated user experiences.

After the stage presentations, we celebrated our CRP partners with appreciation plaques, recognizing their invaluable contributions and dedication to collaboration, innovation, and excellence that continue to drive the growth of the Casambi ecosystem.

Gala Networking Party

The fair week wrapped up on a high note with a memorable evening at TANGRAM Bistro & Bar, AKI Hotel Hong Kong – MGallery Collection, where Casambi hosted a gala networking party for co-exhibitors, ecosystem partners, and industry friends. It was a warm and celebratory close to Casambi’s debut at the Hong Kong Lighting Fair, bringing together everyone who made the week of innovation and inspiration possible.

Throughout the evening, guests connected, exchanged ideas, and enjoyed the lively atmosphere, perfectly capturing the dynamic spirit of the Casambi ecosystem. It was a memorable way to celebrate our debut, highlighting the partnerships and collaborations that will continue to shape the future of smart, connected lighting.

Celebrating a Milestone & Looking Ahead

Casambi’s debut at the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair marked a major step in our growth across APAC.
